Danny Wheeler is a long-time veteran of the UK Drum and Bass scene. He started his illustrious music career as he meant to go on. His debut track ‘Ghost & Lost Highway’ launched him and co-producer Sub Focus into the Top 5 of the UK Dance Charts and the Top 20 of the Indie Charts. His DJing skills have sent him across the globe; everywhere from Cape Town to Columbia, Beijing to Bosnia, all over Europe and Asia. He has performed at numerous iconic venues including Fabric London, +160 Argentina and Womb in Tokyo.
He first established himself as a drum and bass DJ as part of Bryan Gee’s original Movement Bar Rumba Crew. After graduating, he was headhunted by J Majik to become the label manager of his imprint, Infrared Records. It was during his tenure that he indulged his passion for making music and learnt production skills from mentors J Majik and Adam F.
Danny Wheeler has had his music picked up and released on Liquid V, W10 Records, Hospital Records, Infrared and Far Out Recordings. His album ‘The Brazil Project’ on Far Out is a collection of classic Brazilian Jazz with Soul and Funk remixed into Drum and Bass. It also featured hip hop with remixes of Herbie Hancock, Incognito and Azyumuth.
2016 saw the release of his third studio album ‘Magnetise’ feat. Makoto on Danny’s label W10 Records. Magnetise was reviewed as one of the most refreshing LPs of recent years with its broad range of classic drum & bass, neo-soul and j-pop influences.
Danny Wheeler is on a mission. He is currently working on his new artist album and has new series of EPs in the pipeline for 2020.
