The history of MC Flux is mentioned in the same verse as the history of Drum & Bass. He was on the mic at the very beginning and is still going strong today appearing at Drum & Bass raves all over the UK and beyond. He is an innovator of DnB and the scene that we all know today. Flux’s career originated in the reggae sound-systems of the 80’s. He was quickly drawn into the growing rave scene and established himself as the MC of choice for fellow titans Fabio, Grooverider, Jumping Jack Frost and Randall. Growing beyond the rave scene, Flux was approached and then signed to Moving Shadow as resident MC. He lead the charge at their renowned flagship London event, ‘Voodoo Magic’.
After many memorable nights, Flux was then approached by the Metalheadz family. He was quickly hosting the likes of Goldie, Bailey, Kemistry & Storm, Fabio and Grooverider and touring his distinctive London sound across the whole world. Flux has developed a reputation and microphone technique is one of the most versatile around. He has built a stature of being highly skilled, allowing him to let the music breathe when required or unleash the power and rolling energy of a seasoned crowd-hype MC. His undeniable expertise on the mic have seen him busier than ever. He is as comfortable hosting for the darkness of Source Direct as he is for the jungle vibes of Bladerunner, the liquid elegance of Lenzman, jump up sounds of Hype and Hazard or the rolling vibes of T>I.
With a Drum and Bass career spanning more than 25 years, 2018 now sees Flux busier than ever. His passion for the music is what drives him forward and it shows no signs of slowing down. Class is most definitely permanent and the new generation of drum and bass enthusiasts are equally prepared to recognise Flux’s talent and flow on the mic. 2018 has seen him perform multiple times in Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Sheffield and London to name but a few locations. He was also recently asked to be a tour MC on the Chase & Status RTRN II JUNGLE UK tour.
