Jim 'Shaft' Ryan
Jim ‘Shaft’ Ryan is an internationally respected DJ, music producer, remixer, and radio presenter. He is one of the creators of the globally successful brands Miss Moneypenny’s and Chuff Chuff. With a career spanning the decades since the early 1980’s, he is widely regarded as a visionary and an ambassador for dance music. His pioneering spirit has seen him tour the world playing his music on a global scale. He famously held down one of the longest club residencies in Ibiza. From 1995 – 2010 his brand Miss Moneypenny’s was a main stay of the famed Pacha and El Divino.
Jim ‘Shaft’ Ryan’s incredible CV has included some landmark moments in dance music. As a producer he has released, compiled, licensed, conceptualised, and featured on 21 compilation albums. The most recent was the highly acclaimed Miss Moneypenny’s 25th Anniversary release. He has produced and remixed under several alias’s including Groove Allegiance and JSR. His most recent production project, Zoned Out, has steered remixes for luminaries such as Beyonce, Michael Buble, Lady GaGa, Solange Knowles and Yoko Ono.
Jim has hosted a weekly radio show in the UK, Bulgaria, Ibiza, Spain, USA, Australia, and New Zealand. He also embarked on curating the Miss Moneypenny’s brand with Birmingham Gay Symphonic Orchestra at Birmingham’s Symphony Hall to immense critical acclaim. A relaunch of Miss Moneypenny’s in Ibiza with successful events at Ocean Beach and the legendary Café del Mar were also met with wide critical acclaim.
As a DJ, Jim ‘Shaft’ Ryan has always been regarded as being a DJ who can fully engage with the dancefloor. His passion for house music shines through in any set he compiles, taking the audience on an uplifting, positive experience.
